At Quilt Expo 1 in Salzbrug, 1988 I met, by exhanging some fabric, Lois K. Ide, quilter from Bucyrus, Ohio, USA. She invited me for a visit and teached me all quilting techniques she learned from her mom. To thank her for her hospitality and friendship, I made "Hollands Glorie" - A quilt inspired with Delfts Blauw (A well-known color for a town called Delft), where all her techniques are put together. 

1992  

 'Hollands Glorie' at the Quilt Expo in The Hague gets an award: Best Overall Workmanship. From that moment I started getting invited for teaching outside of the Netherlands. I decided to quit my job, delve into quilting and work sustainably as a quilter and freelance teacher. On the 7th of June in 2006 I recieved the Master Quilt Award as 21st quilter on the world for the quilt called "Nocturnal Garden". This honorable prize was awarded by the NQA in Columbus, Ohio, USA.
